NEUROART EXHIBIT

about neuroart exhibit

What is Neuroart?

Neuroart is the scientific understanding on how the human brain responds to the experience of art. It is the intuitive understanding on the power of creative activity as an outlet to treat illnesses, express joy, soothe fear, ease grief and build a healthy community.

From this, The Neuroart Exhibit aims to provide the public exposure to highly immersive installations to foster interconnectivity within our vast and complex network of neurons which influence how we process and perceive a creative experience.

It's a place where bits and masterpieces are showcased from those that use art-i-dote's makerspace in conjunction with comissioned work from local artists that specialise in immersive art

The Neurart Exhibit sits within the existing Coal Hoppers. Aluminium cut outs from the existing Hoppers are repurposed on the floors and walls to enclose the exhibit in order to allow for an immersive and sensorial experience.

The form of the Neuroart Exhibit itself inhabits a sense of visual porosity to create a network of sensory appeal. Curved walls made from dochroic film plexiglass form the journey where people are able to circulate through and find unexpected art tucked within. It transparent qualities allow for people to interact with the form of the exhibit at different scales, allowing for a continuation of sensory appeal. It allows people to wonder and loose oneself in the journey.
